Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) seeks a Technical Staff Member (TP03) to lead corrosion science research in extreme environments. You will manage tasks, perform high-temperature/pressure corrosion experiments, assist with microscopy workflows, and guide junior staff while ensuring project deliverables within budget and schedule.

You will design and execute experiments, manage ORNL’s corrosion data framework, and collaborate with researchers and technicians to advance DOE programs.

Qualifikationen

• BS degree in science, engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years in material compatibility testing in high temp/pressure environments; or MS with 4+ years, or PhD with 2+ years.
• Experience in sample preparation for metallography.
• Experience in electron microscopy and image analyses.

Aufgaben

• Lead and manage project tasks and work packages within DOE-funded programs.
• Coordinate planning, resourcing, and scheduling of corrosion experiments and characterization workflows.
• Serve as technical POC for assigned work packages and communicate progress and risks.
• Mentor junior staff and ensure safe operations and thorough documentation.
• Prepare technical content for project reports and DOE reviews.
• Improve CST lab workflows, microscopy pipelines, and data-management practices.
• Conduct material compatibility testing in high-temp/high-pressure environments.
