Job summary

Kinder Morgan is seeking a Corrosion Technician based at the West Monroe, LA facility. You will provide support on corrosion control and pipeline integrity, design cathodic protection, and conduct corrosion testing with a focus on long-term protection and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Understand and operate all corrosion related instrumentation.
• Knowledge of coatings, corrosion control, and NACE/AMPP practices.
• Ability to read technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong math and data interpretation skills.
• Willingness to travel and respond to emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all activities related to corrosion control and pipeline integrity.
• Design, install, operate, and maintain cathodic protection facilities, power lines, galvanic anodes, and internal corrosion control facilities.
• Monitor pipelines via pipe-to-soil potentials, visual inspection, data from in-line tools, and oversee CIS contractors.
• Lead efforts to design and implement effective long-term cathodic protection systems.
• Prepare drawings, job specifications and contract bid documents.
• Mentor fellow employees when the opportunity presents.
