Title: Corrosion Control Technician - 2nd Shift

Program Overview

The Marine Corps Prepositioning Program (MCPP), based in Jacksonville, Florida, provides maintenance and logistics services to the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC). With over 35 years of experience, we plan, coordinate, and execute maintenance and logistic services for ground combat vehicles and support equipment for USMC Expeditionary Forces.

Job Summary

Responsible for setting up, operating, and performing preventative maintenance on stationary and portable sandblasting equipment for cleaning metal and non-metal surfaces. Applies coatings such as paint, varnish, lacquer, or shellac to various surfaces using brushes, rollers, spray guns, and other methods. Provides technical guidance and training to lower-level painters and assists higher-level painters. Performs additional tasks as assigned.

Basic Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Eight years of related work experience
  • Completion of Vehicle Body Repair Course or equivalent
  • Apprenticeship as a painter/sandblaster preferred
  • Valid State motor vehicle operator license; ability to obtain Tactical Operator License
  • Knowledge of sandblasting equipment, surface preparation, coating methods, and safety regulations (OSHA, SPCC, EPA)
  • Completion of Small Boat Preservation Course or equivalent
  • Ability to wear a respirator, climb ladders, work in confined spaces, extreme temperatures, and at heights
  • Lift 50 pounds unaided
  • U.S. Citizen with ability to obtain and maintain a CAC and Base Access
