DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position provides welding instruction and oversees related training that helps support facility operations and inmate skill development. As a Corrections Welding Trade Instructor, you will perform the following duties:

• Training Delivery: Provide classroom and on‑the‑job instruction in welding practices and procedures
• Work Supervision: Direct inmate work crews and inspect completed welding assignments
• Safety Oversight: Maintain order, discipline, and accountability for tools and materials
• Record Keeping: Document inmate progress, attendance, and assignment details
• Material Planning: Identify, request, and inventory supplies needed for welding work orders

Work Schedule and Additional Information

• Full‑time employment
• Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30‑minute lunch.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non‑negotiable.

Required Experience, Training & Eligibility

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements

• Four years of experience in arc and gas welding of various components or structural frameworks; or
• Completion of an approved apprenticeship in the welding trade; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes one year of journey level work in the welding trade.

Other Requirements

• Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
