Job summary

Broad River Correctional Institution in South Carolina seeks a supervisory administrator to plan, coordinate and direct all administrative, security, safety, welfare and programmatic missions for the facility. The role ensures inmate security and staff safety, develops inmate programs, coordinates disturbance responses, and maintains operations in compliance with state law and SCDC policy.

The incumbent is on call 24/7, completes the eight-week SCDC basic training, and must meet minimum state

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and supervisory experience in a correctional environment or relevant military experience.
• Must be certified by the SCDC Training Academy and complete the basic supervisory course within six months.
• Must successfully complete eight weeks of SCDC basic training upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes, directs, coordinates, manages and is responsible for all administrative, security, safety, welfare, and programmatic activities for Broad River Correctional Institution.
• Ensures inmate security and custody until release by proper authority.
• Ensures the safety of all assigned employees.
• Plans and implements programs for inmates assigned to the institution.
• Responds to disturbances and coordinates response efforts.
• Coordinates emergency response when required using assigned vehicle.
• Ensures operations are conducted in accordance with state laws and SCDC policy; on-call 24/7.
