Job summary

South Dakota Department of Corrections is seeking a full-time corrections position at RCCF in Rapid City. The role includes organizing housing unit schedules, guiding offenders, and coordinating unit programs to meet safety and rehabilitation goals.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience working with a hard-to-serve high-needs client population in a correctional or human services environment.
• Corrections experience with offender classifications, disciplinary systems, grievances, housing assignments and pro-social role modeling.

Responsibilities

• Organizes schedules, coordinates activities, and manages events for an assigned housing unit.
• Assists offenders with individual and family problems and adjusts to the facility.
• Coordinates and manages unit offender programs to ensure compliance with policies; provides work direction to officers.
