Job summary

The State of Nebraska is seeking a Corrections Unit Manager for the Community Corrections Center in Omaha, NE. You will oversee inmate caseloads, supervise Unit Case Managers and Caseworkers, and ensure participation in rehabilitative programs to promote successful reintegration.

You will implement policies to maintain safety, quality of supervision, and timely service delivery, while coordinating schedules and training staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, behavioral sciences, human services or a related field with one year of corrections supervisory experience.
• Associate’s degree in criminal justice, behavioral sciences or related field with three years of corrections supervisory experience.
• No felony or domestic abuse related convictions.

Responsibilities

• Implements policies and procedures to ensure quality supervision and caseload management of inmates/offenders.
• Oversees housing unit operations, including interpersonal problem resolution, sanitation, and food service.
• Supervises Unit Case Managers and Caseworkers and monitors inmate/offender participation in rehabilitative programs.
• Schedules work assignments to ensure proper coverage and trains staff in problem-solving techniques.
