As a Corrections Support Specialist 1–2, you will play a vital role in supporting critical administrative and operational functions within the corrections and parole process. Qualifications:
- Three years of experience in administrative services; OR
- Six years of full-time experience in any field; OR
- A bachelor's degree.
- EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION: Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties:
- Prepares and maintains documentation for the Committee on Parole by monitoring case files, compiling and reviewing records, analyzing case information, and accurately updating and entering changes into the appropriate data systems in preparation for scheduled hearings.
- Prepares and coordinates hearing dockets for more than 160 parole cases each month, ensuring case materials are complete, accurate, and organized for video conference hearings.
- Coordinates with multiple stakeholders, including the Division of Probation & Parole, Victim Assistance Coordinators, District Attorneys, and other relevant agencies and partners, to obtain pertinent documentation and ensure timely upload of materials for Committee review.

Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: JOB APPOINTMENT
- A job appointment is a temporary job lasting up to four years; however, should a permanent position become available, the employee may be converted to a probational appointment.
- This position may also be filled as a probational appointment if a non-temporary position becomes available in the recruitment process.
- If filled by probation, a permanent classified LA State employee, if selected, may be required to accept a probational appointment.
Compensation: This position has a Special Entrance Rate (SER) at each level. However, the salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
- SER for Corrections Support Specialist 1 is $17.34 per hour.
- SER for Corrections Support Specialist 2 is $18.55 per hour.
Career Progression Group: CORRECTIONS SUPPORT SPECIALIST 1 or 2
- Filled at the highest level of experience of the selected applicant.
- Salary depends on level of experience.
