Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Current DCJS certification.
• Working knowledge of correctional policies and procedures.
• Ability to organize, plan, schedule and supervise the work of others.
• Ability to read and comprehend workplace policies and procedures and to prepare workplace reports and documentation.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.

Responsibilities

• Provide first line supervision to Corrections Officers and Trainees on an institutional shift.
• Lead and counsel staff and monitor safety and security.
• Communicate with management, staff, visitors, inmates and the public.
• Complete required training and maintain a safe, productive workforce.
