Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and 1 year correctional experience.
• Valid Ohio driver’s license with acceptable driving record, unless waived by management.
• Must successfully complete annual in-service training requirements.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, protect, instruct, train, counsel and evaluate assigned employees.
• Care, custody, and adherence to inmate rules and regulations in the assigned work area.
• Conduct contraband searches and provide security.
• Supervise custody and security of inmates including observation of inmates and those on work duty.
• Read, review and apply inmate health and safety information from records; relay relevant data to staff.
• Maintain records, forms and reports.
• Oversee preparation and maintenance of records related to health and safety and facility security.
• Promote positive social skills and provide feedback to staff on procedures and interventions.
