Job summary

The NC Department of Adult Correction, Granville Correctional Institution in Butner, NC, seeks a School Psychologist (NS) to support students pursuing high school equivalency diplomas within a medium custody facility.

You will deliver behavioral, academic, and social-emotional supports through individual, small group, and class sessions, collaborating with school staff to implement NASP-aligned practices and data-driven decisions.

Qualifications

• Experience implementing NASP model for services.
• Ability to develop and implement targeted student supports (interventions, universal screening, progress monitoring).
• Experience with IDEA, Section 504, and ADA policy compliance.
• Experience with a variety of formal and informal student assessments for eligibility and placement.
• Ability to collaborate with school personnel, families, and community partners.

Responsibilities

• Deliver targeted support for struggling students across behavioral, academic, and social-emotional areas.
• Provide psychoeducational assessments and write comprehensive reports.
• Consult with staff, families, and community members on cognitive, academic, and behavioral needs.
• Collaborate with school personnel on instructional practices and interventions.
• Support universal screenings and data-based problem solving across the student body.
