GEO Corrections & Detentions seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for on-site inmate healthcare in a Florida facility. You will collaborate with licensed physicians, provide comprehensive nursing care, and ensure accurate medical documentation in a secure environment.

Ideal candidates hold an active RN license in Florida, have 2+ years of nursing experience, and can work independently in clinical assessments, crisis situations, and patient education within a corrections setting.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted RN license to practice in the state of assignment.
• Two years of direct nursing experience preferred.
• Ability to work without direct supervision in nursing diagnosis and treatment.
• Proficient in physical assessments and management of medical emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to inmates/detainees.
• Perform comprehensive physical assessments and document medical history.
• Monitor patients' symptoms and progress; report issues to physician.
• Administer prescribed medications and prevent drug hoarding/trafficking.
• Educate patients on chronic illnesses and post-hospital care.
• Supervise LPN staff and participate in evaluations.
• Maintain confidential medical records and follow accreditation policies.
