The Commonwealth of Kentucky, Department of Corrections, is seeking a Corrections Recreation Leader in Burgin, KY. This full-time role plans, directs, and supervises recreational activities for inmates to meet diverse needs, interests, and safety requirements.

Requires a bachelor’s degree; experience is not required. You will coordinate leagues and events, maintain equipment, prepare reports, and work with staff across departments. OT eligible; 40.0 hrs/wk.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
• EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: NONE.
• Experience in planned recreation, physical education, or related activities can substitute for education on a year-for-year basis; military experience can substitute for college.

Responsabilités

• Plan, direct and coordinate recreational activities for inmates in a large facility.
• Consult with institutional staff in planning programs for residents.
• Gather information on offender skills and interests to plan activities.
• Supervise gymnasium sanitation and maintenance of recreation equipment.
• Attend institution meetings and prepare reports.
• Direct leagues, tournaments and holiday events for inmate populations.
• Maintain records and inventories of recreational equipment.
• Submit weekly and monthly reports to Recreation Supervisor.
