Job summary

The Michigan Department of Corrections seeks a Corrections Qualified Mental Health Professional to join a multidisciplinary treatment team. You will evaluate and refer prisoners to appropriate mental health care levels, monitor progress, and ensure continuity of care after discharge to the community.

Responsibilities include psychosocial assessments, interventions, consultations, and referrals, with the ability to collaborate with other professionals and maintain clear records and reports.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in psychology, social work, or counseling.
• Michigan license to practice the QMHP profession.
• Position is test-designated and subject to drug and alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team to provide QMHP services.
• Perform mental health evaluations and referrals to appropriate care levels.
• Monitor progress and ensure continuity of care for prisoners.
• Provide psychosocial assessments, interventions, and consultations; refer as needed.
