Job summary

NaphCare, Inc. is hiring a Psychiatric Registered Nurse to join our team serving inmates in the Arizona Department of Corrections – Lewis, Buckeye, Arizona.

The role involves delivering mental health care and counseling alongside correctional officers and medical staff in a challenging, diverse population. The RN will work under supervision of the Health Services Administrator, DON, and Psychiatric Providers, performing nursing duties within the state board’s scope and ensuring documentation,

Qualifications

• Must be a Registered Nurse or graduate of an accredited program for practical or vocational nursing.
• Current, unrestricted nursing license in the state of employment.
• Active BLS/CPR Certification (AHA preferred).
• Minimum 1 year clinical experience in mental health or acute care; correctional healthcare preferred.
• Knowledge of mental health and co-occurring disorders, discharge planning, and psychotropic medications.
• Strong communication skills to relay information and treatment plans.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to facility policies and legal requirements.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients in intake, mental health unit, emergency situations, housing units, and segregation units.
• Conduct mental health evaluations and gather psychosocial histories.
• Document patient history, vital signs, mental health screenings, and treatment notes.
• Utilize TechCare EHR for accurate clinical records and progress notes.
• Participate in training related to mental health care for patients and staff.
• Assist in evaluating quality and effectiveness of mental health services.
