Job summary

The Florida Department of Corrections is seeking a Government Operations Consultant I to lead Career and Technical Education (CTE) initiatives within correctional facilities. This on-site role emphasizes effective communication, compliance, quality assurance, and resource management to enhance educational services for inmates.

Key duties include reviewing invoices, vacancy data, IWTF reports, coordinating travel, and performing occasional background checks.

Qualifications

• Must possess a high school diploma or its equivalent.
• Minimum of two (2) years clerical experience to include proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook applications.
• Experience reconciling and processing invoices.

Responsibilities

• Reviews, analyzes, and processes management payment and Privately Operated Inmates Welfare Trust Fund invoices monthly for designated correctional facilities to ensure contractual compliance.
• Reviews, analyzes, and compiles vacancy deductions from vacancy reports and position control documents for designated correctional facilities.
• Reviews, analyzes, and processes IWTF revenue reports monthly for designated correctional facilities to ensure contractual compliance.
• Coordinat es travel arrangements and processes travel reimbursement voucher forms for Bureau staff and on-site contract monitors.
• Serves as the backup for processing criminal history background checks.
• Performs related work as required by Budget Manager or Bureau Chief.
