Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a Corrections Officer Trainee for the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Dallas. This role provides hands-on training in custody, supervision, and support of inmates within a state facility.

You will participate in formal instruction across sociology, psychology, court procedures, and leadership while advancing toward full officer status. The role requires working all shifts, weekends, and overtime as needed, with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Must complete basic training in Elizabethtown, PA.
• PA residency requirement is waived for this title.
• Must be able to perform essential job functions.
• Background investigation, CJIS compliance, medical, psychological evaluation, and drug screening required.

Responsibilities

• Interact with inmates and visitors in direct and indirect situations.
• Monitor inmate movement and activities to maintain security.
• Conduct rounds, head counts, and security checks; report unusual situations.
• Write and complete detailed reports.
• Full-time schedule with shifts; overtime, weekends and holidays as required.
• Wear employer-provided uniforms and follow disciplinary procedures.
