Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a Corrections Officer Trainee to support safety and order within a state correctional facility. The role includes hands-on training, direct inmate interaction, and structured learning in security and counseling practices.

You will work a 40-hour week with shifts determined; telework is not available, and you will dress in employer-provided uniforms while advancing through formal training and evaluative processes.

Qualifications

• Must complete basic training in Elizabethtown, PA.
• Must pass a background investigation and CJIS compliance requirements.
• Must successfully complete a medical examination, psychological evaluation, and urinalysis screening for drugs.
• Able to perform essential job functions.

Responsibilities

• Interact with inmates and visitors directly and indirectly.
• Monitor inmate movement and activities to maintain security.
• Conduct head counts, security checks, and report unusual situations.
• Prepare and write detailed reports.
