Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• College Degree preferred.
• Corrections Officer certification required within one year of employment.
• Must acquire and retain first-aid and CPR certifications.
• Must pass a federal background check and pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and supervise inmates and maintain order in detention facilities.
• Supervise inmate movement and discipline on grounds and during recreation.
• Coordinate and supervise inmate transport to courts, medical appointments, and other facilities.
• Perform searches and seize contraband and ensure security of the facility.
• Enforce facility rules and conduct welfare checks and documentation.
