Job summary

Muskegon County is seeking a Corrections Officer to enforce security within the Muskegon County Jail, under the Sheriff’s Office. You will manage inmate populations, perform booking procedures, distribute meals, and supervise recreation, visitation, and work/school release programs.

This position requires a high school diploma or GED, US citizenship, bondability, sound moral character, and good physical condition.

Responsibilities

• Enforce security within Muskegon County Jail.
• Manage inmate population and safety.
• Perform booking procedures and report writing.
• Distribute meals and supplies to prisoners.
• Supervise prisoner recreation, visitation and releases.
• Complete police reports and records as required.
