Job summary

Rockingham County, NH is seeking a Corrections Officer to maintain discipline and ensure safety within the county jail. You will enforce policies, supervise inmates, and support programs inside and outside the facility, serving as ex officio constable with police powers during arrests or transports.

This full-time, non-exempt position offers shift differentials on 2nd and 3rd shifts, a weekend premium, and a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, life insurance, and

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalency to qualify for NH Association of Counties 'Corrections Officer Academy' Certification.
• Must be able to pass physical requirements of Group II Retirement Certification.
• Must possess a current and valid driver's license.
• Good writing skills with the ability to articulate well.
• Good interaction skills.
• Must pass polygraph test.

Responsibilities

• Maintain discipline and order of incarcerated inmates in treatment housing areas and worker training sites.
• Enforce policies and procedures; supervise inmates and provide safety for staff and inmates.
• Act as ex officio constable with police powers during arrests within jail or during transports.
