Position Summary & Responsibilities
Position Summary:
The primary mission of this position is to protect and serve the public members of Kansas. The secondary mission is to foster change in the resident population through appropriate behavior modeling, problem solving, communication skills, and work ethics. This position plays a critical role in the overall operations of the facility by providing immediate supervision to all levels of the resident population during a routine shift, resolving problems or responding to emergencies within the compound in a judicious, expedient manner, with the goal of creating a safe living and working environment. Ultimately, the goal is to modify the behavior of incarcerated individuals to acceptable levels so that they may eventually, if judged appropriate by Kansas law, re-enter society and become productive members.
Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
Qualifications
Must meet all minimum qualifications and necessary special requirements for CO I A.
Must have a minimum of one year of relevant experience in corrections or in the detention of convicted offenders.
High School Diploma or GED
Must be free of misdemeanor convictions involving domestic battery as an adult unless the conviction was for a battery committed prior to July 1, 1997, and has been expunged.
Must be free of felony convictions.
