Job summary

Nicollet County Sheriff’s Office seeks a dedicated Correctional Officer to support the jail’s safety, security, and well-being of inmates and staff. Position involves bookings, inmate management, medication handling, and coordination with courts and medical staff.

The role requires vigilance, clear reporting, and the ability to respond to emergencies, maintain logs, and enforce jail policies while serving the community 24/7.

Qualifications

• Valid MN Driver’s License and High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to complete Taser, Use of Force, Tactics training
• Ability to complete Medication Administration training
• Ability to complete DOC required training
• Ability to complete CPR/First Aid training

Responsibilities

• Assess arrestees for jail confinement and housing assignments.
• Book and release inmates with procedures.
• Maintain inmate accounts and collect bail money.
• Perform fingerprints and provide public assistance.
• Monitor security and inspect facility for safety.
• Transport inmates to facilities and appointments
