Amergis Healthcare Staffing seeks a Nurse Practitioner to provide comprehensive health care to incarcerated individuals in a correctional setting in Enfield, Connecticut. The NP will perform exams, diagnostics, screenings, prescribe medications, and educate inmates on prevention and treatment within licensed scope.

Minimum requirements include active NP licensure in the state, national certification preferred, and a minimum of one year NP experience with some correctional exposure; CPR and

Qualifications

• Active Nurse Practitioner licensure in the applicable state.
• Certification by a nationally accredited nursing organization preferred.
• Specialty certification per client/state regulations, if applicable.
• One year NP experience preferred, with correctional experience preferred.
• Maintain required collaboration agreements and practice standards.
• Current CPR may be required; TB screening and health certificate as applicable.

The Nurse Practitioner in the correctional setting provideshealth care services to incarcerated individuals within the scope of theirlicense. The Nurse Practitioner performs physical examinations, diagnostictesting, assessments/health screenings, prescribes medications, and educatesinmates on health prevention/promotion, medical conditions, and treatment.

Minimum Requirements:

• Current Nurse Practitioner Certification and license in thestate of practice required

• Certification as a Nurse Practitioner by a nationallyaccredited nursing organization (e.g. American Academy of Nurse Practitioners –AANP, American Nurses Credentialing Center – ANCC) is preferred

• Specialty Certification as per client request and or stateregulations if applicable

• One year experience as an NP preferred

• One year of correctional experience preferred

• Maintain collaboration agreements, per state requirements

• Complies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice

• Current CPR if applicable

• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable

• Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)

• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
