Job summary

Staff Today Inc. seeks a Family Nurse Practitioner in Ordway, Colorado to provide comprehensive clinical care in a correctional setting. The successful candidate will perform patient assessments, manage acute and chronic conditions, order and interpret tests, and develop individualized treatment plans.

Collaboration with the medical team is essential. The role requires CO licensure, 1+ year NP experience, and compliance with PSV, BLS, immunization, and TB requirements.

Qualifications

• Current CO NP license or certification in good standing.
• Minimum 1 year NP experience within the last 3 years.
• PSV from licensing board or equivalent, if required.
• BLS, N95 fit test, immunization records, TB test as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, exams, and medical histories.
• Diagnose and treat acute and chronic conditions.
• Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests and lab results.
• Prescribe medications and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Educate patients and families on disease prevention and treatment options.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care.
• Monitor progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Document encounters accurately in the EMR.
• Promote preventive care and wellness through education and screenings.
