Health Advocates Network, Inc. is seeking a Family Nurse Practitioner for Canon City, Colorado, to deliver comprehensive care in a correctional setting. The position requires an active CO NP license, 1+ year experience, and PSV verification.

The role offers a high local pay rate of $145/hour on a 1099 basis, with four 10-hour shifts per week. The role emphasizes patient care, collaboration with physicians, and compliance with clinical guidelines.

Qualifications

• Current, valid Colorado NP license/certification in good standing.
• Minimum of 1 year NP experience in the last 3 years.
• PSV verification from licensing board or verification agency.
• Current certifications and compliance documents (e.g., BLS, N95 fit test, immunizations, TB test)

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, examinations, and medical histories.
• Diagnose and treat acute and chronic health conditions.
• Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests and laboratory results.
• Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans within scope of practice.
• Educate patients and families on disease prevention, treatment options, and health maintenance.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Document patient encounters accurately in the EMR.
• Promote preventive care and wellness through patient education and screenings.
• Ensure compliance with clinical guidelines, facility policies, and regulatory standards.

Nurse Practitioner (NP) Duties & Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, examinations, and medical histories.

Minimum Qualifications

• Current, valid, and unrestricted CO license/certification in good standing, as required for the position.

• Minimum of 1 year of recent experience as a Nurse Practitioner in the last 3 years.

• Copy of current, completed Primary Source Verification (PSV) from the appropriate licensing board or verification agency, if required.

• Copy of all current required certifications and compliance documents (e.g., BLS, N95 fit test, immunization records, TB test,..)
