Job summary

Commonwealth of VA Careers seeks a Mental Health Group Technician for Greensville Correctional Center. The role provides group support services within the Mental Health & Wellness Department, delivering psycho-educational and recreational programming to inmates.

Responsibilities include CORIS data entry, completing health records documentation by day end, and active participation in treatment team meetings to support therapeutic goals.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of psychiatric diagnoses and warning signs.
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing and to complete required documentation promptly.
• Ability to participate in treatment team meetings and support team goals with group programs.
• Training and experience in group programming, psychoeducation, and recreational activities.
• Experience assisting with goal setting, treatment and behavioral plans.

Responsibilities

• Provide group support services to clinical staff in the Mental Health & Wellness Department.
• Enter data into CORIS and other databases to track group programming and attendance.
• Complete documentation in inmate health records by end of the workday.
• Participate in department team meetings and implement approved programming.
• Report critical mental health needs to clinicians and staff when needed.
• Contribute to special projects or programs as assigned.
