Responsibilities

• Maintain medical records filing systems following established procedures in a correctional healthcare setting.
• Ensure all medical records are complete and properly filed.
• Receive, log, and process requests for patient medical information according to departmental protocols on release of information.
• Retrieve medical records for clinical and ancillary services.
• Fax medical information to approved sites and sources for continuing care.
• Purge medical records, create new patient folders, and prepare mailings as required.
