Job summary

AvaMed Workforce is urgently seeking a Medical Assistant for a full-time six-month assignment at a California correctional facility in Delano, CA. The schedule is 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 7:00am–3:30pm with orientation for two weeks.

Qualifications

• CA Medical Board/Department of Consumer Affairs license required.
• License to practice in AAMA, AMCA, AMT, CCBMA or MMCI.

Responsibilities

• Administer injections and basic life support in emergencies.
• Collect blood and lab specimens using standard techniques.
• Measure vital signs and document findings in the health record.
• Assist and support provider during medical exams and treatments; ensure patient comfort.
• Maintain confidentiality and practice infection control protocols.
