Job summary

AvaMed Workforce is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for a full-time assignment at a correctional facility in Chowchilla, CA. The role requires providing clinical and administrative support under supervision, with a Monday-Friday schedule 8:00am-4:30pm and 40 hours per week.

Local rate is $22/hr; traveler rate is $25/hr, paid via weekly direct deposit. You will administer injections, collect specimens, monitor vital signs, and perform tasks within the MA scope of practice per facility

Qualifications

• Must hold CMA certification and active license where required.
• Ability to administer injections and phlebotomy where applicable.
• Experience with basic laboratory specimen collection and vital signs.
• Familiarity with medical documentation and patient safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and administrative support under supervision.
• Administer injections and basic life support in emergencies.
• Collect blood samples and label specimens for testing.
• Take and record vital signs; assist with treatments and exams.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and infection control practices.
• Communicate with patients and staff to ensure care coordination.
