The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction (Rehabilitation & Correction - Dayton Correctional) is seeking a licensed practical nurse to provide direct patient care in a secure correctional environment. The role includes administering medications, maintaining clinical records, and supporting treatment planning with physicians and healthcare staff.

Starting pay is approximately $60,000 annually for eligible shifts; the position is full-time, on-site at Dayton, Ohio.

Qualifications

• License to practice nursing as an LPN issued by Ohio Board of Nursing pursuant to Section 4723 Ohio Revised Code.
• Proof of completion of an approved course in medication administration.
• Note: Licensed Practical Nurses who administer dialysis treatment must possess Certification in IV Therapy pursuant to Section 4723.17 Ohio Revised Code.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care as directed.
• Documents patient-related care timely within the electronic health record.
• Maintains patient medical records.
• Administers medication, including oral and intramuscular medications; may administer intravenous therapy if certified.
• Participates in patient care planning and treatment team activities.
• Responds to emergencies and provides emergency care as needed.
• Performs treatments and assists with Chronic Care Clinics management.
• Assists physicians with medical procedures and supports other healthcare staff.
