Job summary

State of South Carolina in a correctional setting seeks a supervisor for commissary, laundry and barber/beauty operations. Under the commissary manager, you will direct operations, supervise laundry, and train all inmate workers.

You will ensure proper procedures, maintain equipment, and assist in supply distribution while upholding sanitation. Schedule may change; four weeks of SCDC Basic Training are required after hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; related work experience preferred.
• Experience supervising staff and ensuring compliance with procedures.

Responsibilities

• Direct commissary, laundry and barber/beauty operations within a correctional environment.
• Supervise the laundry operations.
• Train and oversee all inmate workers.
• Ensure proper procedures are utilized.
• Maintain equipment.
• Assist the commissary manager with supply distribution.
• Ensure proper sanitation and cleanliness of barber equipment.
• Order and stock necessary equipment and supplies.
• Develop and implement a system to reduce theft of laundry items.
• Assist in accountability of records inventories, weekly recaps, postings and SCEIS entries.
• Respond to staff requests.
• Perform duties of manager in their absence.
