Job summary

Bureau of Prisons/Federal Prison System is seeking a Health System Administrator (Health Services Administrator) to oversee a multi-disciplinary health care team serving inmates. The role includes budget planning, compliance oversight with ACA and Joint Commission, and coordination with contract medical staff.

The incumbent will supervise staff directly or via the Assistant Health System Administrator and ensure security and health service delivery standards across the institution.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manages and directs the activities of a multi-disciplinary team of health care professionals (medical, dental, and allied health services) to the inmate population.
• Serves as a cost center manager to prepare estimates and administer an annual budget.
• Provides administrative supervision directly or through the Assistant Health System Administrator to subordinate staff (Mid-Level Practitioners, EMTs, Pharmacist, Clinical Nurses, Medical Record Technician, Dental Assistant, contract medical staff).
• Develops and coordinates internal review systems to assure ACA and Joint Commission compliance and other regulatory guidance; maintains institutional security as part of the role.
• Staff correctional responsibilities precede all other duties and are performed on a regular basis.
