This role prepares monthly statements, reconciles accounts, tracks expenditures, supports inmate accounts, and coordinates budgets, with a 37.5 hour work week and daytime schedule. Telework is not available.

Qualifications

• One year as a Financial Programs Trainee or equivalent.
• Successful completion of Commonwealth Accounting Intern Program or equivalent.
• Five years of bookkeeping experience and fifteen accounting credits.
• One year as a Fiscal Technician and fifteen accounting credits.
• Bachelor's Degree including or supplemented by fifteen accounting credits.
• Eligible within three months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial statements, summaries, and supporting reports.
• Review and balance checking accounts, petty cash, and inmate-related fiscal records.
• Monitor transactions, verify accuracy, and resolve discrepancies across multiple accounts.
• Address inquiries, review documentation, and ensure fiscal compliance with laws and policies.
• Track expenditures, prepare budget requests, and report status updates to committees.

Education

One year as Financial Programs Trainee

Accounting Intern Program completion

Five years bookkeeping experience with 15 accounting credits

One year as Fiscal Technician + 15 accounting credits

Bachelor's Degree including 15 accounting credits

Educational requirements within 3 months of graduating
