Job description

If you have experience in facilities management and are looking to advance your career, the Department of Corrections (DOC) is currently seeking a Corrections Facility Maintenance Manager 3 to join our team at the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Phoenix. In this role, you will be responsible for performing specialized tasks and managing a team with enthusiasm, energy, and self-motivation. As a Corrections Facility Maintenance Manager 3, you will oversee maintenance and repairs at SCI Phoenix. You will supervise facility maintenance and trade staff, ensuring the facility is well-maintained. Your duties include reviewing reports, observing the facility to prioritize preventive maintenance, construction projects, and workload. You will also develop a written plan for preventative maintenance of the physical plant, including provisions for emergency repairs and replacements in life-threatening situations. Construction projects are important but will not take precedence over the primary function of the facility.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  1. Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  2. Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Schedule may change as operationally necessary.
  3. Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  4. Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Qualifications
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • One year of experience as a Facility Maintenance Manager 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Two years as a Facility Maintenance Manager 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Three years of experience as a Utilities Supervisor (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Seven years of experience in the construction, maintenance, or repair of buildings; or the operation, maintenance, and repair of utility services equipment, including four years in a managerial or supervisory capacity; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements:
  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
