Job summary

State of West Virginia is seeking a Corrections Facility Coordinator 1 to oversee the activities of state shop, post office, laundry, or central receiving and inmate workers. Under general supervision, you will direct inmate labor, assign tasks, and prepare reports on the section’s activities.

You will train coworkers, ensure equipment and supplies are available, and may perform related work at a higher level.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent.
• Four years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in the area of assignment, one year of which must have been in a lead worker capacity.
• Coursework from an accredited college or university may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis for up to four years of experience.

Job description

Under general supervision, performs full performance duties of Corrections Facility Coordinator 1 overseeing the activities of state shop, post office, laundry, or central receiving, and inmate workers. Work is reviewed by CFC II through results produced through meetings to evaluate input. Performs related work as required. CFC 1 makes work assignments, compiles reports on section’s activities, and ensures accuracy. In some instances, may perform related work of a more advanced level. Direct inmate contact. Trains co-workers in proper work methods. Ensures that equipment, supplies, and materials are available. Assist in security post as needed.

• In accordance with SPB 3088 effective 10/7/23, $5000 will be added to the minimum starting rate of pay for all classifications within a Critical Vacancy Pay Supplemental Facility. Critical Vacancy Pay Facilities: Huttonsville Correctional Center and Jail, Mount Olive Correctional Complex and Jail, Western Regional Jail and Corrections Facility, Northern Correctional Facility (including Ohio County Correctional Center), Northern Regional Jail and Correctional Facility, Chick Buckbee Juvenile Center, Vicki Douglas Juvenile Center, Potomac Highlands Regional Jail and Correctional Facility, and Eastern Regional Jail and Corrections Facility (including Martinsburg Correctional Center) (SPB 3088)




• Employees in this classification shall receive an annual base building pay differential each fiscal year of $250 after completing one year of service.




• If an employee is hired into a Critical Vacancy Pay Facility (CVPF) and leaves the facility, the additional pay differential of $5,000 shall be removed from their salary, unless transferring to another CVPF.

Training:
