Minnesota Department of Corrections in Faribault seeks an experienced Associate Warden of Administration (AWA) to lead the administrative division of a high-security facility. You will oversee plant maintenance, food service, safety, records, and IP property, while guiding budget and strategic initiatives end-to-end.

Three (3) years of experience in the profession of corrections, finance, business administration, human resources, public administration, or related profession sufficient to direct the delivery of diverse activities, such as physical plant operations, finance, safety, or food services. (NOTE: a Master’s degree may substitute for eighteen (18) months of experience; Bachelor’s degree may substitute for one (1) year of experience; Associate’s degree may substitute for six months (6) of experience.

The selection process may include screening the top candidate(s) on their criminal history, predatory offender registration, offender associations and/or other applicable background information in accordance with Department of Corrections’ policy. Top candidate(s) must pass a criminal history check which includes successful completion of all sentencing and/or restitution requirements of law enforcement jurisdictions, including probation.
Employment history/reference checks, including incidents of sexual harassment, will also be conducted on the top candidate(s) in accordance with Department of Corrections’ policy. This may include a review of job performance and discipline records.
New employees will be fingerprinted within the first 30 days of employment.
