The Minnesota Correctional Facility – Oak Park Heights is seeking an Electronics Systems Specialist to plan, install, configure and maintain electronic equipment, software, hardware and networks for security, safety and communications.
You will maintain CCTV and security door control systems, support new construction projects, and troubleshoot electronics and network issues to ensure reliable facility operations with a focus on security and compliance.

In this position you will perform advanced technical work in planning, installing, configuring, and maintaining electronic equipment, software, hardware, and networks for communication, automation, safety, and security at within the Minnesota Correctional Facility at Oak Park Heights (MCF - Oak Park Heights).
The following qualifications are required of all applicants seeking consideration for this position. Only applicants whose application materials clearly demonstrate fulfillment of each of these minimum qualifications will be considered for the position. To ensure accurate evaluation, your resume must clearly describe your experience in the required areas. For each job, include whether it was full‑time, part‑time, or intermittent/on‑call; how many hours per week you worked; and the month and year you started and ended.
NOTE: If the successful candidate does not currently have a Power Limited Technician license, they will be required to register as an unlicensed individual prior to hire and will perform work in accordance with M.S. 326B.33.
NOTE: Completion of a one year vocational/technical program in electronics technology or a related field may be substituted for six months of work experience. Completion of a two year vocational/technical program (e.g. Associate in Applied Science degree) in electronics technology or a related field may be substituted for one year of work experience.

The completion of pre‑placement physical components may be required for this position. These components may consist of a tuberculosis screening, commercial drivers license (CDL) drug test, and/or respirator clearance. The selection process may include screening the top candidate(s) on their criminal history, predatory offender registration, offender associations and/or other applicable background information in accordance with Department of Corrections’ policy. Top candidate(s) must pass a criminal history check which includes successful completion of all sentencing and/or restitution requirements of law enforcement jurisdictions, including probation.
Employment history/reference checks, including incidents of sexual harassment, will also be conducted on the top candidate(s) in accordance with Department of Corrections’ policy. This may include a review of job performance and discipline records.
New employees will be fingerprinted within the first 30 days of employment.
