Job summary

The Missouri Department of Corrections seeks a qualified teacher to educate adult offenders within a maximum-security environment. The role requires alignment with DESE standards and certification, plus contributions to program development and student progress documentation.

In addition to subject instruction, you will deliver offender programming such as cognitive behavior and financial literacy, while maintaining records and collaborating with the Education Supervisor.

Qualifications

• Current teaching certificate issued by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) or be eligible and willing to obtain a Missouri DESE Teaching Certificate.
• All requested documents MUST be received by the closing date listed.

Responsibilities

• Teach subject matter to adult offenders appropriate to educational background and certification by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
• Adhere to the state-approved course of study while adapting to pupils' needs and abilities.
• Plans/outlines classwork and prepares materials for special study.
• Develops/implements/evaluates plans; participates in teacher conferences and research projects; maintains scholastic/attendance records.
