Job summary

State of Missouri's Department of Corrections is seeking an educator to oversee testing and deliver adult education to inmates. You will teach subjects aligned to the state curriculum and ensure compliance with DESE standards.

You will adapt lessons to learners with diverse backgrounds, maintain records, and participate in professional development and team meetings. The role includes offender programming deliveries.

Qualifications

• Current teaching certificate issued by DESE, or eligibility to obtain.
• Experience teaching adults and offenders preferred.
• Ability to deliver cognitive behavioral and workforce programs.

Responsibilities

• Teach adult offenders, aligned to the state course of study.
• Adhere to approved curriculum while adapting to learners' needs.
• Plan lessons, prepare materials, and track attendance/records.
• Deliver offender programming (cognitive behavioral, financial literacy, workforce skills).
• Maintain scholastic/attendance records and participate in meetings.
