Job summary

Portland Community College is seeking Casual Corrections Education Associates to support ABE/GED and Work-Based Education programs in multiple facilities. The role emphasizes front-line student services, supervision in classrooms and labs, and coordination of tutoring and clerical tasks.

Position is casual with limited hours; background checks and DOC requirements apply. Training is provided, and candidates may cover various programs as needed within the corrections education team.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• One year of post-secondary coursework in a relevant field and one year of experience in an administrative or similar environment is preferred but not required.
• Experience performing the duties of the job may substitute for the post-secondary education requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

• Student support, lab supervision and classroom operations, including assisting students and maintaining attendance.
• Oversee Adults in Custody tutors and program staff; manage schedules and communications.
• Input data into institutional databases (Banner, Workday, DOC systems) and maintain departmental files.
• Coordinate classroom and lab room assignments and ensure instructional supplies are stocked.
