The Department of Corrections (DOC) mission is to protect the citizens of the Commonwealth and to provide asafe, secure and humane environment for staff and offenders in carrying out the mandates of the legislativeand judicial processes; and, to provide opportunities for offenders to acquire skills which facilitate non-criminal behavior.
The DOC provides an opportunity for inmates to acquire skills through educational programming. The educationprograms include communication skills, general education, basic academic skills, GED preparation, specialeducation, vocational education and post secondary education.
Western Kentucky Correctional Complex is seeking a Corrections Education Specialist I, this position plays anessential role for the institution by providing targeted instruction services to the inmates housed at thefacility.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
