Job summary

Corrections education professionals who foster a humane and secure environment and ensure public safety by preparing individuals for successful reentry into our communities. To be considered for the position, you must meet rigorous basic requirements, including a Bachelor's degree with supervised student teaching and required coursework in psychology, human development, history/philosophy of education, and teaching methods.

Special education coursework and a Ph.D.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with supervised student teaching and required coursework in general psychology, human development, history/philosophy of education, and teaching methods.
  • For secondary teaching, at least 24 semester hours in principal fields of instruction.
  • Special Education coursework including at least one course covering exceptional students and specialization areas.
  • Three years of graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.
