Job summary

Bureau of Prisons/Federal Prison System seeks qualified education professionals to prepare individuals for successful reentry into communities. The position requires a bachelor’s degree with specific coursework and State teaching certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with supervised student teaching and courses in general psychology, human development, history/philosophy of education, and teaching methods at the specified learning level.
• Combination of Education and Experience allowed if one full academic year of professional teaching at elementary/secondary level is met.
• Certification/licensure in a U.S. state or territory is required; upload documentation with application.

Responsibilities

• Assist in organizing, planning, implementing and evaluating a variety of educational programs (e.g., Adult Education, GED, ESL).
• Oversee the work of instructors who provide educational services under contract.
• Evaluate academic and vocational programs and make recommendations based on developments.
• Assign duties to subordinates to accomplish goals and objectives.
