Job summary

The State of Colorado seeks a leader to oversee Prison Programs at the Denver Correctional Complex, guiding Education, Library Services, Faith and Citizens, JYACAP, and related initiatives. You will supervise staff, develop and implement CTE and academic plans, and manage budgets to ensure high-quality student outcomes.

Required experience includes eight years in education-related roles with leadership capabilities; substitutions and licenses may apply.

Qualifications

  • Eight (8) years of professional work experience including two (2) years in education-related roles.
  • Experience must be described within the application to receive credit.
  • Substitutions: advanced education may substitute for work experience on a year-for-year basis.
  • Professional Colorado teaching license or CTE credential is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee Prison Programs including Education, Library Services, Faith and Citizens, JYACAP and Peer Led programming.
  • Implement comprehensive Career and Technical Education (CTE) and Academic education plans.
  • Oversee incarcerated individual programming and evaluate offerings.
  • Manage program budget and ensure fiscal integrity.
  • Supervise staff and guide credentialing progress toward full credentialing.
  • Coordinate credentialing and licensure for new instructors.
  • Participate in audits, curriculum review and professional development.
  • Other duties as assigned.
