Job summary

The Franklin County Sheriff's Office seeks a Corrections Deputy to perform intake, booking, custody, transport and care of offenders. You will operate electronic security equipment, conduct counts, and ensure safe, secure, and sanitary housing in the corrections center.

Responsibilities include processing offenders, maintaining records, coordinating court appearances, handling emergencies, and enforcing facility rules. This role requires alertness, physical capability, and adherence to policy.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Process new offenders, search, book, photograph, and log housing.
• Input/update electronic and written files and incident reports.
• Oversee offender custody in transit to court or facilities.
• Coordinate court appearances and update disposition data.
• Operate security equipment and monitor inmate movement.
• Conduct counts and document statistics for accountability.
• Perform searches to limit contraband and inspect living areas.
• Assist in release planning, work release coordination, and fees.
• Draft written reports on events and incidents during shift.
• Provide basic needs to offenders, including meals and first aid.
• Follow Emergency Response Plan and support commissary operations.
• Enforce rules, issue warnings, and respond to inquiries.
