Job summary

Linn County Sheriff's Office in Oregon is seeking to fill a Corrections Deputy role focused on custody, care, and transportation of adults in custody (AIC) within the jail. You will process intake and release, supervise inmates, and enforce jail policies to ensure safety and order.

Qualifications include U.S. citizenship, 21+ years of age, a clean record, and successful completion of required tests and backgrounds. DPSST and medical requirements apply. Training and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of custody, care, and transportation of adults in custody (AIC).
• Ability to maintain order and supervise conduct of AIC.
• Good judgment and ability to work without direct supervision.

Responsibilities

• Maintain custody and surveillance of AIC in the Jail; supervise work crews and programs; manage AIC movement and transports.
• Inspect AIC quarters for safety and contraband; assist AIC and families with contacting service agencies; record directives and court orders.
• Prepare reports on incidents, population counts, and misconduct; operate communications equipment.
• Review and evaluate AIC work release performance; assist AIC with problems on assignments.
• Process AIC in/out, fingerprint, photograph, search; prepare paperwork and ensure release per Court orders.
• Perform basic medical screening of entering AIC; arrange for medical evaluations; distribute prescribed medications.
• Transport AIC to courts and other locations; send teletype messages; develop professional work relationships.
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
