The Nevada Department of Corrections seeks multiple Corrections Counselor II vacancies at the Northern Nevada Correctional Center in Carson City. The incumbent will provide case management, assessments, and psycho-educational services to inmates, including crisis intervention and de-escalation.

Under supervision, provide group treatment, conduct assessments, and prepare mental health summaries to ensure continuity of care during inmate transfers.

Qualificações

• Master's degree in clinical psychology, psychology, counseling, education, social work, or closely related field with two years post-master's clinical experience.
• Doctoral degree in clinical psychology, counseling psychology, educational psychology, social work or related field with internship in a correctional/rehabilitative setting.
• Psy.D. in clinical psychology with a one-year internship in an applied program in a correctional/rehabilitative setting.
• Two years of experience as a Corrections Counselor I in Nevada State service.

Responsabilidades

• Interview individuals to determine treatment, programming, or placement needs and make behavioral health recommendations.
• Participate as a treatment team member; share information and analyze treatment options.
• Provide counseling, relaxation, relationship, substance abuse, and pain management counseling to facilitate recovery.
• Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation to relieve immediate problems and protect staff and inmates.
• Consult and train staff on policies, procedures, and current scientific developments in agency services.
• Plan, develop, and coordinate program services; participate in committees and quality reviews.
• Document activities in reports and charts; prepare information for third party billing.
• Conduct research and evaluation studies for data collection and program improvement.
• Perform related duties under supervisory direction and as part of the unit management team.
