Qualifications

• Three years and six months as a corrections officer, and 18 college credits in sociology, counseling, psychology, social work, corrections, criminal justice, or a related field
• A bachelor's degree including 18 college credits in sociology, counseling, psychology, social work, corrections, criminal justice, or a related field
• An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes 18 college credits in sociology, counseling, psychology, social work, corrections, criminal justice, or a related field
• Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree/credits

Responsibilities

• Inmate Counseling: Meet with inmates to support adjustment, resolve concerns, and encourage positive progress
• Case Management: Maintain records, share information with staff, and coordinate communication with families and agencies
• Assessment Review: Evaluate test results and histories to determine programming needs and document progress
• Treatment Coordination: Work with multidisciplinary teams to align programs, activities, and behavioral expectations
• Reentry Planning: Prepare parole reports, assist with identification needs, and support community reintegration opportunities

Education

Bachelor's degree with 18 credits in sociology, counseling, psychology, social work, corrections, or related field

Equivalent combination of experience and training with 18 credits in related fields
