Qualifications

• Master’s or higher degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or related behavioral health field.
• Two or more years of clinical mental health experience in correctional, forensic, crisis, or institutional settings.
• Must have and maintain current clinical license (GA) (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, PsyD, LMSW or equivalent).
• BLS Certification required prior to first day of employment.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience; subject to regulatory requirements.
• Preferred: NCCHC/ACA standards familiarity and crisis management training.

Responsibilities

• Delivers direct clinical services (individual and group psychotherapy) to reduce maladaptive behavior.
• Provides crisis intervention services to patients referred by staff or self-referred.
• Conducts diagnostic evaluations and writes reports with findings and recommendations.
• Provides consultation to staff on patient mental status and management.
• Participates in staff meetings and education programs.
• Maintains accurate documentation and contributes to quality improvement.
• Ensures compliance with regulations and proper care; responds to emergencies on-site.
